The Saanich Schools Career Education Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new District Career Website. This website provides students, parents, and employers with a wealth of knowledge and information about Career Programs and opportunities within School District 63 (Saanich).
The Trade Awareness Skills and Knowledge (TASK) Program is a Camosun College trade sampler program offered in partnership with the Saanich School District, Coast Salish Employment Training Society (CSETS) and the Canadian Welding Bureau Foundation. Students sample seven trades while working towards nine industry training certificates. They also complete dual credit courses while developing a strong foundation for moving into further Camosun College programs. TASK is hosted at the Saanichton Learning Centre campus.
This year we are welcoming approximately 450 new Kindergarten students into Saanich Schools -- introducing 450 brand new students to the joys of learning and growing. When we remind ourselves that this cohort of students will graduate in the year 2031 it tells us that while we may not know what the world will necessarily look like in 13 years, we do know that by our continued emphasis on innovative teaching and learning we provide our students with a vibrant educational experience while preparing them for their future successes.
