Saanich Schools honours the graduating class with a virtual ceremony

2018 District TASK Program

The Trade Awareness Skills and Knowledge (TASK) Program is a Camosun College trade sampler program offered in partnership with the Saanich School District, Coast Salish Employment Training Society (CSETS) and the Canadian Welding Bureau Foundation.  Students sample seven trades while working towards nine industry training certificates.  They also complete dual credit courses while developing a strong foundation for moving into further Camosun College programs.  TASK is hosted at the Saanichton Learning Centre campus. 

Welcome back to school!

This year we are welcoming approximately 450 new Kindergarten students into Saanich Schools -- introducing 450 brand new students to the joys of learning and growing.  When we remind ourselves that this cohort of students will graduate in the year 2031 it tells us that while we may not know what the world will necessarily look like in 13 years, we do know that by our continued emphasis on innovative teaching and learning we provide our students with a vibrant educational experience while preparing them for their future successes.  In Saanich Schools, our teachers, administrators and support

Premier's Award for Excellence in Education - Finalist Melissa Austin

We are extremely pleased to announce Melissa Austin, District Vice-Principal (Indigenous Education) has been named as a finalist for these inaugural awards in the category for Indigenous Education.   We are extremely fortunate to have Melissa in this important role in Saanich.

Saanich Schools – Opening the Door to Opportunity

Our schools, like our world, have changed over the years – today Saanich schools have opened new doors of learning not possible just a few short years ago. Our innovative learning opportunities of new courses, programs and academies engage the learner like never before allowing them to follow an incredible array of new interests and passions.

Our students are actively engaged in the new curriculum, assisted with new technology and tools that make learning fun, relevant and future focussed. The future is being taught today in Saanich public schools.

 

Trustee Candidate Information Meeting

Dave Eberwein, Superintendent of Schools and Jason Reid, Secretary Treasurer will host an information meeting to help prospective candidates learn more about public education, School District 63 (Saanich) and the work of a Board of Education.

The evening session will be held at the School Board Office, 2125 Keating Cross Road, Saanichton.
